The wireless safety system RE 6900 from the SAFEMASTER W series is the perfect solution if you want to work safely and reliably in hazardous areas during machine maintenance or setup – all while enjoying maximum mobility and the highest level of safety.

In pair mode, the wireless safety system RE 6900 consists of a transmitter – available as either a wireless enable switch or a wireless emergency stop – and a corresponding wireless safety module UH 6900 as the receiver.

In group mode, the wireless safety system RE 6900 consists of a transmitter – either a wireless enabling switch or a wireless emergency stop – and up to 255 group receivers UH 6900. The wireless handheld transmitter RE 6900 is paired with one or more group receivers UH 6900.

The wireless enabling switch enables safe movements during service, setup, or maintenance operations, while the wireless emergency stop allows for remote, mobile safety shutdown of machines. With the wireless enabling switch, a hazardous area can be safely entered at reduced speed, as the hazardous movement is only continued when active consent is given.

The wireless enabling switch enables safe operation and prevents the unintentional initiation of hazardous movements, as only an active middle position of the three-position switch grants permission for the machine movement via radio. Releasing or pressing the switch all the way interrupts the movement and triggers a safety-related shutdown.

Pressing the emergency stop button sends a safety-related emergency stop signal via radio to the associated wireless safety module UH 6900, which puts the system into a safe state.

The wireless enabling switch fulfils the requirements up to Category 4 / Performance Level e (PL e) in accordance with EN ISO 13849 and SIL 3 in accordance with IEC 61508, making it suitable for safety-critical applications.

The wireless enabling switch is primarily used in the servicing, maintenance, and setup of machines and systems to protect personnel. Examples of applications include:

The wireless enabling switch operates in the license-free frequency range of 433 – 434 MHz or 869 MHz, allowing it to be used flexibly in industrial applications.

In addition to starting the system in normal operation, it can also be started via infrared (IR start). To do this, the handheld transmitter is aimed at the infrared module (IR receiver) located on the system to be monitored. If this option is enabled, the receiver expects both a start signal via radio and a start signal via infrared before granting permission. This limits the system’s start-up to a defined spatial zone with a visible danger area.
